Several years ago the IOS Board initiated an IOS Grant Program. Each year awards up to $500 are available to applicants conducting projects relating to birds and/or birding in Illinois. Funding has been provided from events such as the Gull Frolic and Big Day pledges.
This year seven worthy grant proposals were received. Sufficient funds were available to be able to award grants to two of the proposals from our $1,000 fund. The Board would like to raise additional sums to fund more of the proposals. To this end we are establishing an IOS Grant Fund Donation Program to accept contributions during the year to add to the funding provided by the Gull Frolic and Big Day pledges.
