Greater White-fronted Goose: DuPage Co (North) - 41 at Fermilab on 11/21/09 (Sam Burkhardt). Most of them were at the Bison Field. 7 on 11/19/09.

Cackling Goose: DuPage Co (North) - 9 at the Bison Field at Fermilab on 11/21/09 (Sam Burkhardt). Lake Co (North) - 2 at Independence Grove on 11/18/09 (Beau Schaefer).

Tundra Swan: Lake Co (North) - 2 at Sand Lake in Gurnee on 11/19/09 (Beau Schaefer). About 62 were seen the day before. Kane Co (North) - 3 near the wet area on Route 38 and Swanson Road (Ari Shavit). Cook Co (North) - 40+ flybys observed from the Gillson Park beach house on 11/16/09 (Bob Erickson, Bob Fisher, Mike Madsen, Andy Sigler).

Surf Scoter: Cook Co (North) - 3 flybys observed from the Gillson Park beach house on 11/16/09 (Bob Erickson, Bob Fisher, Mike Madsen, Andy Sigler).

White-winged Scoter: Lake Co (North) - 3 flybys seen from North Point Marina in Winthrop Harbor on 11/17/09 (Eric Walters). Cook Co (North) - 8 flybys observed from the Gillson Park beach house on 11/16/09 (Bob Erickson, Bob Fisher, Mike Madsen, Andy Sigler).

Black Scoter: DuPage Co (North) - 1 at Springbrook Prairie in the marsh just north of the model airplane field parking lot on 11/21/09 (Urs Geiser). It was also seen the day before. Lake Co (North) - 1 adult male at the South Unit of Illinois Beach State Park on 11/21/09 (Dave Johnson, et al.). DeKalb Co (North) - up to 5 were seen near the dam at Shabbona Lake on 11/21/09 (Mike Madsen). They have been there for 2 weeks now. Cook Co (North) - 2 flybys observed from Montrose Point on 11/20/09 (Bob Hughes). Lake Co (North) - 1 at Druce Lake on 11/18/09 (Beau Schaefer). Cook Co (North) - 2 flybys observed from the Gillson Park beach house on 11/16/09 (Bob Erickson, Bob Fisher, Mike Madsen, Andy Sigler).

Long-tailed Duck: Bond/Clinton/Fayette Co (South) - 1 seen from Point 18 at Carlyle Lake on 11/21/09 (Dan Kassebaum). 2 flybys observed from the Gillson Park beach house on 11/16/09 (Bob Erickson, Bob Fisher, Mike Madsen, Andy Sigler).

Red-throated Loon: Cook Co (North) 2 flybys observed from the Gillson Park pier on 11/16/09 (Greg Neise, Jeff Skrentny).

Northern Goshawk: Lake Co (North) - 1 at the Illinois Beach State Park Hawk Watch on 11/21/09 (Vic Berardi, Paul Sweet, Chris Whittier, et al.). The Hawk Watch is conducted from the Sand Prairie Day Use Area Pavilion in the North Unit of Illinois Beach State Park.

Golden Eagle: McHenry Co (North) - 1 flying through the area north of I-90 between Route 23 and Anthony Road on 11/20/09 (Pete Moxon, Eric Secker).

Black-legged Kittiwake: Cook Co (North) - 2 1st winter flybys observed from the Gillson Park beach house on 11/16/09 (Bob Erickson, Bob Fisher, Mike Madsen, Andy Sigler).

LITTLE GULL: Bond/Clinton/Fayette Co (South) - 1 adult seen from the Saddle Dam at Carlyle Lake on 11/21/09 (Dan Kassebaum).

California Gull: Lake Co (North) - 1 adult at North Point Marina in Winthrop Harbor on 11/17/09 (Eric Walters).

Lesser Black-backed Gull: Lake Co (North) - 1 at the South Unit of Illinois Beach State Park on 11/21/09 (Dave Johnson, et al.). Boone Co (Central) - 1 at Candlewick Lake on 11/20/09 (Pete Moxon, Eric Secker). Lake Co (North) - 3 at North Point Marina in Winthrop Harbor on 11/17/09 (Eric Walters).
