Harlequin Duck: Cook Co (North) - 1 has been fairly reliable for more than three weeks now at the traditional location of North Avenue Beach. Try looking from the chess pavilion (more likely) or the fish hook pier. It was last seen on 1/10/10 (Michael Furmanek).

Northern Goshawk: Cook Co (North) - 1 immature at Bemis Woods South on 1/9/10 (Doug Stotz). It was seen along the orange trail about 300 yards west of its junction with the blue trail. To get there, enter Bemis Woods South off of Ogden. Keep left until you get to the very end. The blue trail takes off to the north from the north end of the last parking area. Its junction with the orange trail is a couple of hundred yards away from the parking area.

PRAIRIE FALCON: Ogle Co (North) - 1 was found about two miles North of Nachusa Grasslands along Lowden Road on 1/10/10 (Greg Neise. Jeff Skentny). This bird is possibly on winter territory. It was relocated on 1/11/10 (Bruce Heimer).

Lesser Black-backed Gull: Kankakee Co (Central) - 1 adult at the Wilmington Dam on 1/6/10 (Jed Hertz).

Ruby-crowned Kinglet: Kendall Co (North) - 1 male has been visiting a suet feeder at a private residential location in Oswego for more than a week now. It was last seen on 1/9/10 (Mary Robbins).

Varied Thrush: Ogle County (North) - 1 has been present at Anne Straight's residence in Forreston for a few weeks now. Many birders have seen it (last on 1/11/10). Anne Straight is allowing visitors.

Common Redpoll: Cook Co (North) - One was seen at a private residence in Glenview on 1/10/10 (Dick Paulson). All Winter finches have been very scarce this Winter.
