Harlequin Duck: Cook Co (North) - 1 has been seen off and on for more than two weeks now at the traditional location of North Avenue Beach. Try looking from the chess pavilion or the fish hook pier. It was last seen on 1/1/10 (Matthew Cvetas, Fran Morel).
Black Scoter: Cook Co (North) - 1 female at Monroe Harbor on 1/1/10 (Matthew Cvetas, Fran Morel). 1 female behind the Shedd Aquarium on 12/31/09 (Paul Dacko, Fran Morel).
Ruby-crowned Kinglet: Kendall Co (North) - 1 was visiting a suet feeder at a residential location in Oswego on 12/31/09 (Mary Robbins).
Varied Thrush: Ogle County (North) - 1 has been present at Anne Straight's residence in Forreston for over a week now. Many birders have seen it (last on 1/3/10). Contact Anne Straight for permission to view the bird.
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE: Randolph Co (South) - At least 2 females in a ~10,000 bird flock of Common Grackles at 9769 County Line Road in Coulterville found by Greg Neise and Jeff Skrentny on 12/30/09.
