Benefits of belonging to IOS include:

Participating in field trips, like the Gull Frolic, is one of the benefits of belonging to IOS.
  • Receive the Meadowlark, the quarterly journal of ornithology for professionals and amateurs containing articles about Illinois birds, birders, and birding locales, illustrations and photography, photo essays, technical research papers in ornithology, seasonal highlights, historical information, field notes and more.
  • Participate in state-wide organized field trips.
  • Assist in collecting ornithological data for publication and permanent record.
  • Meet, interact with, and learn from birders around the state.
  • IOS is a 501c3 organization incorporated in the State of Illinois. Membership dues are tax deductible, less a $25 publication fee.
