The Hunt for Smith’s Longspur and Golden-Plovers

Join Matt Fraker in a search for the elusive Smith’s Longspur.

We will be hiking a private farm that hosted Smith’s Longspurs last year and should have them this year. We have been granted permission to wander the entire property looking for birds. Participants should wear good hiking footwear in case the fields are wet or sloppy. We will also be looking for American Golden-Plovers, Wilson’s Snipe, LeConte’s Sparrows, and late Lapland Longspurs.
